Zhongji Innolight, a Chinese maker of high-speed optical modules for data centres, reported third-quarter 2026 revenue of 27.77bn yuan, up 171.83% year on year, according to its quarterly report. Net profit attributable to shareholders rose 173.74% to 8.59bn yuan, and basic EPS rose 159.65% to 7.40 yuan. For the first nine months, revenue rose 178.13% to 69.55bn yuan and net profit 211.81% to 22.24bn yuan. The company said sales of high-end modules such as 800G and 1.6T kept growing in the first nine months. The figures are unaudited, and the report gives no outlook.

Net profit excluding non-recurring items was higher, at 9.02bn yuan, up 190.13%, because the quarter included a net non-recurring loss of 431m yuan. The largest item was a 590m yuan loss from fair-value changes on financial assets held for trading, before tax. Over nine months, financial expenses rose to 1.14bn yuan from 43m yuan a year earlier, which the company attributed to exchange losses on its dollar and Hong Kong dollar holdings as those currencies weakened against the yuan; its Hong Kong listing proceeds were received in Hong Kong dollars.

Cash and bank balances stood at 53.53bn yuan on 30 September, against 10.99bn yuan at the end of 2025, and treasury shares from buybacks were valued at 5.00bn yuan. The board also approved a proposal, which still needs shareholder approval, to cancel the 5.65m A-shares bought back in September instead of using them for employee incentive plans, according to a notice.

Its Shenzhen-listed shares closed at 582.05 yuan at 15:00 China time (08:00 CET) on 29 October 2026, down 8.53% from 636.30 yuan, according to Sina Finance data. The report was published after that close, on the evening of 29 October China time, so Friday's session will be the first to trade on it. Wallstreetcn linked Thursday's broad fall in Chinese AI hardware shares, including the company's, to third-quarter results from Tianfu Communication and Alphabet that it said disappointed, and to weaker-than-expected chip profit at Samsung Electronics.
