LKQ Corporation said its preliminary Q3 2026 results primarily reflected underperformance in Europe, where parts and services organic revenue fell 9.8%, hit by operational disruptions associated with the ERP implementation in Germany and by volume declines in the United Kingdom and Benelux. The Europe segment's EBITDA margin fell to 4.1% to 5.1%, from 10.0% a year earlier. On 23 October 2026 LKQ responded: President and Chief Executive Officer Justin Jude left the company and its board, Salvatore A. Abbate was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer from 15 December 2026, and the company withdrew its full-year 2026 guidance.

LKQ said it was withdrawing the outlook, last updated on 30 July 2026, considering its third-quarter results in Europe and Abbate's appointment. Preliminary, unaudited figures show Q3 2026 revenue of $3.32bn, against $3.50bn a year earlier, and a net loss from continuing operations attributable to LKQ stockholders of $16m to $32m, including $111m of non-cash impairment charges, against net income of $178m. Diluted loss per share was $0.06 to $0.12, against diluted EPS of $0.69, and adjusted diluted EPS was $0.47 to $0.53, against $0.84. Group-wide, parts and services organic revenue fell 5.4%, and the company said the shortfall in Specialty was more limited.
“LKQ’s performance, particularly in Europe, has fallen significantly short of the Board’s expectations, and the Board is taking decisive action to address it.”
Until Abbate starts, an interim Office of the Chief Executive Officer made up of John Mendel, Chairman of the Board, and Sue Gove, Chair of LKQ's Audit Committee, will oversee operations with the leadership team. Rick Galloway, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, will serve as principal executive officer for SEC purposes.
Andy Hamilton, President and Managing Director of LKQ Europe, also departed that role on 23 October 2026. The board engaged Alvarez & Marsal to advise on European operations, initially on customer service levels, stabilising operations and cost discipline. Abbate, 58, is a former CEO of Veritiv Corporation. LKQ said the steps were taken in connection with the board's review of strategic alternatives, which it began in January 2026 and which includes a potential sale of the company.
