Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. (K Line) on 23 October 2026 raised its consolidated forecast for net profit attributable to owners of the parent for the year ending 31 March 2027 to ¥190 billion, from the ¥135 billion it announced on 4 August 2026, according to its notice on TDnet. The new forecast compares with ¥132.99 billion reported for the year to 31 March 2026. Forecast earnings per share rise to ¥316.46 from ¥220.79.
On the same consolidated basis, the company raised its operating revenue forecast by ¥100 billion, or 9.3%, to ¥1,170 billion, and its operating income forecast by ¥6 billion, or 7.1%, to ¥91 billion. Ordinary income is now forecast at ¥190 billion, up ¥55 billion or 40.7% from the August forecast. For the year to 31 March 2026, K Line reported operating income of ¥84.16 billion and ordinary income of ¥109.10 billion.
The Japanese original assigns the company's two reasons to different lines of the forecast. K Line said it revised operating revenue and operating income because it expects the market to stay firm, mainly in its dry bulk business. It revised ordinary income and net profit, it said, because cargo demand and market conditions in the container shipping business run by its equity-method affiliate Ocean Network Express Pte. Ltd. (ONE) exceeded its previous forecast. The notice gives no breakdown of how much of the ¥55 billion increase comes from ONE.
