Kotak Mahindra Bank's standalone profit after tax rose 29% to Rs 4,212 crore in the second quarter of fiscal 2027, ended 30 September 2026, from Rs 3,253 crore a year earlier, and 2% from Rs 4,123 crore in the first quarter, its media release of 24 October 2026 shows. Consolidated profit after tax was Rs 5,645 crore, up 26% from Rs 4,468 crore a year earlier. Standalone operating profit rose 21% to Rs 6,382 crore from Rs 5,268 crore. Provisions fell 15% to Rs 803 crore from Rs 947 crore, and annualised credit cost was 0.35%, against 0.79% a year earlier and 0.46% in the first quarter.
In the quarter the bank mobilised FCNR(B) deposits of about Rs 55,344 crore and provided loans of about Rs 16,110 crore through its international branches, the release says. Standalone net interest income rose 16% to Rs 8,459 crore from Rs 7,311 crore a year earlier. The net interest margin was 4.31%, against 4.54% a year earlier and 4.53% in the first quarter, and the release says the moderation was largely on account of FCNR(B) mobilisation during the quarter.
Total period-end deposits grew 23% from a year earlier, or 13% excluding FCNR(B) deposits. The CASA ratio was 38.2% at 30 September 2026, against 42.3% a year earlier, which the bank says reflects the larger term deposit base from FCNR(B) inflows; excluding those deposits it was 41.8%. Net advances rose 25%. Excluding loans against FCNR(B) deposits and the loan portfolio acquired from Kotak Mahindra Investments Ltd (KMIL), net advances grew 19%.
